First holy communion

Baptism of the Child, First Holy Communion, Confirmation - These are solemn events that are of profound significance to believers. Therefore, usually as a gift for baptism, a gift for holy communion or a gift for Birmovka, children are given an object associated with faith. Holy Communion is a term used by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches to denote the holy bread and wine that Christians receive in the celebration of the Eucharist.

First Communion is approached by children after about a year of catechetical training at the age of about nine. The training should build on the one or two years of religious instruction already completed. The first holy communion is organized in the parishes, usually once a year in May or early June. It is held in a ceremonial manner at Sunday Mass with the participation of parents and godparents. Mass is usually followed by a photo shoot or celebration.
